    Schlumberger Legal Department is looking for an IT Hardware and Telecom Contracts Manager, located in Houston, Texas.

    He/she will be responsible for the overall management of the supplier contracts for the IT Hardware and Telecom Sub-Categories with a focus on contract management pre and post-execution related to IT hardware VSAT, BGAN, Internet and mobile services.

    He/she may also be required to work on digital agreements with suppliers including open source licensing, data security, data use and privacy issues (including GDPR); hosting, cloud computing and software services agreements.

    He/she reports directly to the IT Global Category Contracts Manger and functionally to the IT Telecom and Hardware Global Category Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for setting and implementing the contracts strategy for the IT Hardware and Telecom Sub-Categories aligned with the Global Procurement organization's objectives;
    • Drafts, reviews, negotiates contracts for the IT Hardware and Telecom Sub-Categories;
    • Interacts and coordinates with the business and all other support functions and departments (as and when necessary) to ensure contractual risks are clearly identified and addressed in compliance with Schlumberger's policies and standards;
    • Manages the life-cycle of contracts from Requests for Information (RFI) through to contract closure or renewal and ensures and monitors compliance with Schlumberger policies, standards and procedures, and contractually assumed obligations (including without limitation price, scope, quality, billing, Service Level Agreement (SLA));
    • Manages contract claims or disputes with the support of the IT Global Category Manager and the relevant Legal Counsel, whenever necessary;
    • Responsible for creating, maintaining and continuously improving the contracts templates and procedures for the IT Hardware and Telecom Sub-Categories;
    • Ensures that all contract records are maintained up-to-date in the relevant supplier contracts database (ARIBA);
    • Works together with the IT Global Category Contracts Manager on special projects as and when required;
    • Participates in assigned Legal Department and Global Procurement Management strategic initiatives;
    • Contributes to the Legal Department's knowledge management program by capturing and sharing lessons learned from his/her matters and making useful content available on the Legal KM Portal; and
    • Contributes to the Legal Department's training program by assisting with the design and delivery of training and learning initiatives.
    • Degree in Law, Contracts Management, IT, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or equivalent discipline;
    • At least 7 years proven experience in contract negotiation, administration and/or management in an IT environment, including telecom;
    • Strong knowledge of technology and IT laws and regulations;
    • Expertise in risk analysis and management;
    • An excellent understanding of both commercial and legal contractual risks;
    • Experience in oil & gas industry environment, whilst preferred, is not essential;
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate comfortably at all levels within the organization and across borders;
    • Strong negotiation skills;
    • Strong commercial acumen with demonstration of highest ethics and integrity and business-oriented legal advice;
