    Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, has an immediate opening for a Senior Quality Engineer in Houston, TX.

    The Senior Quality Engineer will champion GEMTE Americas Project Execution Quality Group's efforts and will be responsible to the Manager of Quality-Americas Project Execution. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of Quality activities associated with the construction of the Air Products SOG & SOE projects and the quality of manufacturing of engineered equipment working closely with Procurement. You will be required to function with minimal supervision and be proactive in ensuring quality in all spheres. The position will require close interaction with the company's Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction execution teams to ensure the successful execution of the Company's Quality Management program.

    Technical/Functional Responsibilities:

    • Manage and guide the QA/QC activities during the execution of EP, EPC, and EPCM contracts in a manner that achieves the project quality requirements within the Quality Standards, Cost, and Schedule targets set by the Company.
    • Ensure that all actions, works, and services undertaken by EP, EPC, and EPCM Contractor, are in accordance with the respective Contractual Agreement.
    • Ensure compliance with the Company's objectives, requirements, priorities, policies, procedures, standards, rules, regulations, and guidelines provided by the company from time to time.
    • Ensure that cost-effective solutions in engineering design are adopted while maintaining quality, construct-ability, operability, and maintainability.
    • Ensure the project is built in conformance to the specified codes, standards, specifications, and jurisdictional requirements.
    • Conduct Quality surveillance audits during the different stages of project execution Engineering, Procurement, and Construction with timely management reporting.
    • Oversee contractor QA/QC performance through spot and planned surveillance audits.
    • Ensure the provision of proper technical coordination and administration services to the project management group.
    • Ensuring that QA/QC culture is visible across all projects at all levels.
    • Ensure quality resources are planned and hired for quality execution of projects.
    • Review and approve Suppliers, Contractor, and Subcontractor quality programs including Project Specific Quality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans (ITP)
    • Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and construction of erection activities and report any non-conformance's and follow up on the required corrective and preventative actions.
    • Provide inputs to the collection of Lessons Learned for the project.

    The position will require domestic travel (>25%) to construction projects, including some international travel as and when required. The position will be filled at a level commensurate with experience.
